Two new projects with South America

CRESTIC is participating in two international projects with South America

MESO (Modelling and predicting the Side Effects of the Antarctic Ozone Layer)

This CAPES-Cofecub project brings together Universidade Federal de Santa Maria in Brazil (LSC and PMOA/GRUMA laboratories), University of La Réunion (LACy laboratory) and URCA (CASH team from the CReSTIC laboratory) over four years to study and model the side effects of the hole in the ozone layer over the Antarctic. The objectives of the project are to predict the occurrence of these phenomena by constructing a model and digital codes able to statistically and quantitatively document the effects of the hole in the ozone layer over the Antarctic in the sub-tropic and mid-latitude regions.

CC-SEM (Cloud Computing for Smart-City Energy Management)

The second project is financed by the STIC-AmSud programme for a period of two years. Involving both academic and industrial partners from Uruguay (Universidad de la República and Agency for the Energy Market Administration (ADME)), Argentina (Universidad de Buenos Aires and Association of Energy Distribution Enterprises (ADEERA)) and France (URCA), it aims to research and develop an integrated platform for monitoring and managing energy use in smart cities.

Furthermore, the platform must take into consideration the perspectives of consumers and administrators of the electrical grid, offering both a set of tools for managing domestic appliances (for consumers) and tools for planning and simulating energy generation/distribution scenarios (for electric companies).
