Team presentation

Given the presence of contaminants related to human activities in natural environments, current researches in the laboratory are aimed i) a better understanding of fundamental mechanisms underlying their toxic effects on animal organisms, ii) the definition of precocious and predictive responses of the toxic hazard and their potential use in monitoring networks. The unit researches are organized around three axis: i) preproduction and endocrinology, ii) immunity and defense capacities and iii) energy and metabolism.

Members

The 1st of January 2018, the composition of the unit was: 30 teacher-researchers and researchers; 16 engineers or technicians with permanent contracts, and 25 doctoral students, post-doctoral and engineers or technicians in fixed-term contracts.

Key words

Ecotoxicology, biomarkers, bioassays, energy metabolism, genotoxicity, reprotoxicity, endocrine disruptors, immunotoxicity, chemical stress, biological stress, vertebrates, invertebrates, biomonitoring, continuum

Research topics

Theme 1: Improve our knowledge on the mechanisms of toxicity of chemical and biological contaminants on aquatic organisms and identification of interest markers for biomonitoring.

Theme 2: Lift the locks of the use of these markers/tools (biomarkers, bioassays) in biomonitoring and environmental diagnosis.
