Introduction

The STIC Research Centre (CReSTIC, EA 3804) is a research unit attached to the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne. The centre and its other site locations (Reims, Troyes, Châlons-en-Champagne, Charleville-Mézières) manages all imaging science research and innovation activities for the western part of the Grand-Est region.

140 people work at CReSTIC, 80 of them as research professors. The two departments - ‘IT’ and ‘Automation & Signal Processing’ – are home to 10 research teams. Their main activities, such as calculations, knowledge, automatics and signal processing involve pluridisciplinary and interdisciplinary enhancement activities, especially in healthcare engineering, smart agriculture, 4.0 industry, creative industries, vehicle to vehicle communication and smart buildings.

CReSTIC manages three major technological platforms for the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne: The ROMEO Regional Calculation Centre and the Imaging Centre (both housed within the Maison de la Simulation of Champagne-Ardenne), and the CellFlex 4.0 Workshop. Driving many national academic projects (PIA, ANR, FUI) as well as international projects, CReSTIC is also a key player in innovation throughout the region, as attested by its industrial transfer activities (SATT and CIFRE contracts) together with large-scale national firms, but also dynamic mid-market companies.
