Looking back on the wine and spirits auction

The communication activities carried out by students before the event paid off: almost 70 people were present, and enthusiastic participants in the auction! The generosity of this audience, which clearly included fans of excellent labels, enabled lots of all kinds to be sold from amongst the 102 up for auction.

The bottles were very generously provided by stakeholders in Champagne (houses, cooperatives, winemakers) and other French winemaking regions (Bordeaux, Burgundy, Loire, Alsace, Provence, Cognac), without whom this auction could not have taken place.

For the students, this event was the fulfilment of over two months of work and shared commitment: searching for lots, media communications (press releases, radio appearances) and non-media communications (emailing, digital press articles, publications on specialist sites), creation of visuals, displays and organisation of the logistics of the evening. A “professional” experience that was a success thanks to their discipline, their determination and their team spirit - all with a shared goal in mind: funding their study trip to South Africa.

The profits made from the evening add to the fundraising total from various activities (selling Beaujolais wine, selling chocolates, wine cellar tours, organisation of a student party).

From 7 to 14 March the students will put the funds raised to good use, discovering Stellenbosch, the second oldest town in South Africa.

This trip will allow the young professionals to learn about this market by meeting local stakeholders. The programme includes visits to vineyards, organisations advocating for South African wines, importers, and wine merchants and a meeting at the French Consulate.
