A world junior fencing champion at URCA

During the last World Junior Fencing Championships, which took place from 5 to 9 April 2021 in Cairo (Egypt), Kendrick Jean-Joseph, who is studying for a degree in Economic and Social Administration (AES) at URCA and CREPS in Reims, won the individual junior world fencing title and came 6th in the team event.

On Friday 9 April 2021, Kendrick Jean-Joseph won his fourth fencing medal and first gold for France. The fencer managed to gain the upper hand over the Egyptian Mohamed Yasseen, who was beaten 15-13. In the previous round, he beat (12-11) Mohamed Elsayed, a compatriot of Yasseen's, in a sudden death match.
