CHAT/LEFE FAMOUS project

As part of the CHAT/LEFE FAMOUS project in collaboration with Météo France and the CNRM, the GSMA had to use an ultralight version (900g) of the AMULSE balloon instrument to take measurements of H2O flows under a tethered balloon. The GSMA took part on the one hand in the first validation phases on the Météopole site to compare with flow measurements on an instrumented mast and on the other hand with the first measurements using a tethered balloon (0-800m altitude).

This instrument will then be integrated into the 2019/2020 ANR SOFOG3D campaign aimed at deepening the understanding of the processes involved in the formation of fog and improving its forecasting with numerical weather prediction (NWP) models.
