Information: procedures for closing establishments

In order to best protect the entire population and take into account the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic, on Thursday 12 March the French President announced a series of measures which included closing all higher education establishments to the public from Monday 16 March for a minimum period of two weeks which may be extended as long as required.

To date, in accordance with the decree of 17 March , the implementation of these measures implies for our university:

1/Closing all activities open to the public.

The University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne will stop receiving users as part of their activities from Monday 16 March and all premises will be closed to students and the public. In order to guarantee pedagogical continuity, the faculties will offer teaching modules in other forms, in particular e-learning to enable users to follow their training remotely.

In application of article 4 of the decree of 14 March 2020 on various measures concerning the fight against coronavirus (COVID-19)

2/Maintaining other activities

Other administrative activities will continue, to enable continuity of activity. Staff who have the possibility of working remotely will, with some exceptions, work from home, including for research activities.

Staff (and only those staff), whose

  • activities are essential and come under the continuity plan
  • laboratory activity is involved in research against coronavirus (COVID-19) or comparable epidemics
  • laboratory's internal activity would lead through the interruption of handling to the loss of essential, sensitive scientific studies or which would be particularly complex or cumbersome to reorganise

must in accordance with the provisions of the decree of 16 March 2020, as part of their work trips be in possession of

  • the authorisation to access the premises of the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne strictly for service requirements
  • the document provided by the authorities to justify the trip, available on the website: www.gouvernement.fr/info-coronavirus

In accordance with the provisions of the decree of 14 March 2020, supplemented by the decree of 15 March 2020, meetings, activities or gatherings must be done using digital means or be postponed.

3/ Halls of residence, university catering and grants. AGORAE and SUMPPS

University residences will invite young people to return to their family homes, but will remain open, in order to host pupils and students, particularly international ones, who are not able to do so. Grants will be maintained.
University restaurants are closed.
