Presentation

The purpose of the Common Documentation Department is to implement the documentation policy of the University, closely linked to the needs of teaching and research. Within the framework of the 4-year Establishment Contract, (Contrat quadriennal 2007-2007), the SCD is in charge of a 3-line development: improvement of reception and research conditions with the reorganisation of the services and collections with two construction projects, improvement of services to users with a training policy focused on document methodology and the development of collections aimed at students in L cycle, and lastly a document policy adapted to the modernisation of research techniques, with notably the implementation of a document information system. The SCD is composed of all the libraries and documentation centres in the University.

Missions :

• acquire, process and provide scientific documentation,
• train users to document research methodology,
• take part in the production, publication and promotion of scientific and technical information, as well as in cultural, scientific and technical animation,
• propose a technical cooperation technique to other libraries or documentation centres working towards the same goals.
