A human anatomy atlas at URCA

Since the start of the 2019 academic year, the Medicine and Pharmacy teaching and research divisions with the collaboration of the University Library have acquired the 3D Visible Body application suite, a tool for increasing one's knowledge of human anatomy.

With a simple smartphone, tablet or computer, students and teachers have access to:

  • a comprehensive atlas of the human body;
  • a comprehensive application covering structures, musculoskeletal functions, lesions and common pathologies;
  • a step-by-step presentation of each system in the human body.

3D interactive views, animations and quizzes make learning about anatomy and physiology more concrete and interesting.

Digital health studies

URCA promotes the deployment of innovative digital tools for education and research. The anatomy atlas is one of the many innovative educational tools offered by the university. The acquisition of a state-of-the-art ophthalmic simulator in 2018 and recently a surgical simulator (P4P) makes the URCA health campus one of the best equipped in France. The objective for the university is to set up an in-house health simulation project which would make the medical, pharmacy and odontology faculties and the region more attractive in terms of health.
