At the start of the 2021 academic year, the DUT becomes the B.U.T.

Published on 12 February 2021

From the start of the academic year in September 2021, the IUT training offer is changing. The Technology University Bachelor's degree (B.U.T.) becomes the new reference qualification at IUTs. Now students will register for a B.U.T rather than a DUT. !

New perspectives for students

By signing up for a B.U.T., students benefit from an integrated 3-year course without additional selection to achieve degree level. The qualification is aligned with international standards and facilitates exchanges with foreign universities. A DUT is issued after the first two years.

Like the DUT, this course will be exclusive to IUTs and have entry requirements. The B.U.Ts will be defined by their 24 specialities, identical to the DUT. They will always be based on national programmes with local adaptations.

With the B.U.Ts the IUTs add to their strengths

Students continue to benefit from university and technological education supervised by experienced mixed teaching teams. The course always revolves around professional simulated scenarios, periods in a company in the form of internships or work-study programmes. At the end, it enables you to enter the job market or continue your studies (engineering school, business school, degree, master's degree).
