Companies and URCA connected thanks to the apprenticeship tax.

Recruitment difficulties expressed by companies represent more than 44% of recruitment projects1. These difficulties take various forms: shortage of qualified applicants, lack of attractiveness or mismatch of applications/expected skills.

In this "tense" job market situation, companies increasingly associate themselves with the university to train their staff as part of continuous training, and to contribute to the professionalisation of their future staff, in order to build up a pool of trained, qualified and immediately operational applicants.

The University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne (URCA) is developing strong partnerships with companies through its various components parts (IUT, engineering schools, faculties, etc.) based around joint actions and initiatives, such as funding projects, sponsoring events, immersion days, job forums, tutored projects, job dating, etc. down to co-constructing teaching modules.

"Our staff are regularly involved in training at the URCA, which makes it possible to adapt them to the expectations of our sector," says L. MIAS, a chartered accountant and auditor at the FCN firm. "We joined the IUT Business Club as a member. Currently in its launch year, it has met with great success with more than 70 members."

For the university, this co-operation represents additional opportunities to make its students better aware of the world of business, its professions, its expectations, etc., with one aim - to help their professional integration. As such, the university has excellent professional integration rates: +92% after a master's degree and +96% after a vocational degree2.

In a very concrete way, apart from the links established with companies by training sectors, the university recently signed several partnerships geared towards supporting the employment of young graduates, with APEC as well as with NQT3. In addition, the university has a carrier centre which enables companies to distribute their internship, work-study or job offers to students.

In 2020, the apprenticeship tax collected by the URCA will make it possible to contribute to the development of new collaboration projects, invest in cutting-edge equipment and roll out original and innovative actions.
The URCA is authorised to collect the balance (former out-of-quota share) of the apprenticeship tax for all of its training. www.univ-reims.fr/taxeapprentisage
