This event organised by the partner ValBiom took place at the Biobase Europe Pilot Plant in Ghent in Belgium, and brought together nearly 100 people, most of whom were manufacturers.
During the event, the main results of the VALBRAN project, aimed at producing bio-based surfactants from wheat bran, were presented. The APPLISURF project, led by BBEPP (Ghent) was also presented. The VALBRAN and APPLISURF projects are two examples of R&D projects dedicated to the development of a wide range of bio-based surfactants obtained by biotechnological means (yeasts and enzymes). The event also featured testimonies from 4 manufacturers, producers and users of surfactants or wheat bran: SEPPIC, ECOVER, CARGILL and NUSCIENCES. The day ended with a visit to the Biobase Europe Pilot Plant.
