Participation of the AURNMUN Association in the National Model United Nations in New York

The Association of the University of Reims for the National Model United Nations (URCA NMUN) is proud to announce the success of its very first participation in the NMUN New York, held from April 6 to 10, 2025.

This simulation, the most prestigious of its kind in the world, brought together more than 3,000 students from all backgrounds. The Reims delegation, made up of eight students, represented the Seychelles across five different committees.

URCA stood alongside institutions such as HEC, KEDGE, and Grenoble. And for a first participation, the achievement was remarkable: the delegation earned the title of “Outstanding Delegation”, the highest distinction awarded at this simulation. Only two French delegations were honored this year, including that of KEDGE—making this a great source of pride for URCA.

Another notable success: one of the Reims pairs received an “Outstanding Position Paper Award”, recognizing the quality of their research and writing work prepared in advance. This award is given to only about twenty delegations out of more than 150, with some teams working for years before obtaining it.

The New York experience was also highlighted by a visit to France’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations, just before the closing ceremony in the iconic General Assembly Hall. It was in this symbolic setting that the delegation officially received its distinction.
