The council of studies and university life is a consulting body composed of 40 members.

It is consulted about:

• the guidelines on initial and further education,
• the requests for habilitation and the projects for new courses of study and on teaching courses assessment
• the necessary measures to :
  • enable the implementation of students orientations and validation of studies,
  • facilitate their integration into active working life
  • foster cultural, sport, social or associative activities
  • improve life and working conditions
• the necessary measures required to help the integration of handicapped students.

Guarantor of student political freedoms, it may put forward wishes. It elects a student vice-president in charge of matters regarding student life, in connection with the CROUS (Centre Régional des Œuvres Universitaires et Scolaires = Regional Centre for University and School activities).
