Appointed by the French National Ministry of Education upon proposal from the President, the General Secretary is in charge of the management of the establishment, (under the authority of the President).

He or she takes part in the elaboration and implementation of the University policy, leads all administrative and technical departments of the University, runs the administrative team and manages ancillary personnel.

He or she takes part in the administration council and other administrative bodies of the University with an advisory position.
