If the document you are looking for is not in your library, you can have it brought to you by the interlibrary loan service. This service is available to any user registered with the library of the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne.

We can deliver to you in the library of your choice documents coming from other libraries of the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne. This service is free and can be used for any kind of documents available in our collections, apart from past exam papers.

We will provide the direct link to documents for which an online version is available in the online library of the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne; the printed version of a document being also available online will not be sent to you.

Requested documents will be at your disposal within 5 working days after your request has been received. The deadline can be longer (up to 14 days) for libraries out of Reims (Châlons-en-Champagne, Charleville-Mézières, Chaumont, Troyes).

The document is not in a library of the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne

This document delivery service makes it possible to contact other libraries to get books, doctoral theses or journal articles which are not in the libraries of the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne.

PhD students, medical interns and research staff authorised by their laboratory managers or their heads of department can be financially supported by their team.

Interlibrary loan is a paid service making it possible to get any document, from France or any other country, which is not in the libraries of the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne. You have to be registered with the library to benefit from that service. An original document or a copy will be delivered depending on the lending library’s policy.

Document request

  • Document request forms, available in each library, have to be completely filled out and printed clearly.
  • Requested documents shall be paid upon delivery.
  • Each user has to keep informed of the delivery of documents, either by phone or at the library desk.
  • Documents not consulted do not cancel in any case the price charged to the user.

All reproductions, whatever their origin, are exclusively aimed at personal and private research or study (article 41 of the law of 11/03/1957) or at researches void of any commercial purpose.

By signing the form, the user agrees to respect those conditions.

Extending loan periods

The request for an extension of a loan period has to be made at least one week before the original due date, and the extension granted will depend upon the answer of the library providing the document. Less than a week before the due date and after the due date, an extension of the loan period will be denied.

The extension of the loan period is allowed only once.

If the document is more than one week overdue, the library rules apply as for any other document loaned from the libraries of the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne.

Special conditions regarding the availability of documents

Lending libraries decide on the loan period for the book and the way the document can be consulted.

  • Books: two weeks to one month, at home or for in library use only.
  • PhD theses: one month for in-library use only
  • Periodicals: two weeks for in-library use only

Documents coming from abroad are for in-library use only.
