The RIBP currently includes 50 people working on plant immunity. The activities of the lab can be decomposed into 3 complementary tasks: (i) immunity and elicitor perception, (ii) immunity and beneficial microorganisms and (iii) immunity and climate changes.
The RIBP is included in the RFS Condorcet (RF CNRS 3417), especially in the axis #1 (sustainable production and environment).
20 scientists (6 professors, 14 assistant professors) including 8 habilitated
7 technical staff (1 secretary, 3 engineers, 3 technicians)
13 PhD students
3 post-doc
4 engineers
3 technicians
- Biocontrol, climate change, plant immunity, fungal diseases.
Plant immunity: plant defense mechanisms
Immunity and elicitor perception (receptors, membrane fluidity)
Immunity and beneficial microorganisms (dialog between plant and microorganisms, markers of tolerance and/or resistance)
Immunity and climate changes (drought, temperature)
Immunity and photosynthesis (enegetic costs of defenses)
Protection against fungal diseases (grey mould, downy mildew, grapevine trunk diseases, fusariosis and cereals, sclerotinia and rapeseed, …)
- Plant production under standard or stressing conditions (cell culture, in vitro culture, fruiting or vegetative cuttings, potted plants)
- Production of microorganisms pathogenic to plants or biocontrol agents
- Stimulation of plant immunity through biocontrol
- Tests of pathogenicity, biopesticides
- Defense metabolism, stress metabolism and carbon metabolism (molecular, biochemical, cell, tissue and organism level)

- COST « Grapevine Trunk Diseases », RMT Elicitra, GIS « Biocontrôle », SFR Condorcet (FR CNRS 3417)
The RIBP is one of the few French labs working on plant immunity and its stimulation against both biotic and abiotic stresses. The special future consists in developing biocontrol approaches (i) based on a deepened knowledge of intimate mechanisms of plant immunity and (ii) taking into account the fluctuations of climate which affect not only the physiology plants, pathogens and biocontrol agents but also the interactions between these organisms.
